2027 readiness checklist

  1. Confirm coverage and your fiscal-year basis under CARB's Initial Regulation.
  2. File the Scope 1 and 2 report (or any permitted alternative) by November 10, 2026.
  3. Document your boundaries, methods (GHG Protocol) and data sources.
  4. Build internal controls and an evidence trail an assurer can follow.
  5. Shortlist independent assurance providers and confirm independence (your assurer should not have prepared your inventory).
  6. Consider a voluntary "dry-run" readiness review in 2026.
  7. Track CARB's 2027 rulemaking on assurance standards and deadlines.
  8. Start Scope 3 data collection for 2027 reporting.
